🐢 The Waiting Begins!

1 November 2026 | Fraser Coast Turtle Nesting Season

It's officially turtle time on the Fraser Coast, and we couldn't be more excited!

Our marine turtle monitoring team is ready for another nesting season, and now the waiting begins for that first unmistakable set of turtle tracks on our beautiful beaches.

Over the coming weeks, our team will be busy preparing monitoring locations, installing research equipment and keeping a watchful eye on our beaches.

👣 Our Day Team Is Ready!

Our daytime monitoring team will be out checking beaches for signs of nesting activity.

But we can't be everywhere, and that's where our wonderful community comes in!

If you're out enjoying an early morning walk and spot what might be turtle tracks, we'd love to hear from you.

📍 Record the beach name and approximate location.

📸 Take a photograph if you can, without disturbing the tracks.

📱 Text your sighting to 0417 633 281.

Please leave the tracks undisturbed and never attempt to locate or dig into a nest yourself.

🌙 Sharing Our Beaches After Dark

As our nesting mums begin returning to the beaches, please remember to keep lights off the beach, minimise noise and give turtles plenty of space.

Never approach a nesting turtle or use flash photography.

🐢 Come and Meet the Team!

Throughout the season we'll be conducting beach walks and talks, sharing our research and giving you an opportunity to learn more about these remarkable marine animals.

If you see our team working on the beaches, give us a wave! You're welcome to stop and chat when we're not undertaking sensitive monitoring or relocation work.

🔬 Follow the Season

From our first tracks and confirmed nests to research discoveries and eventually hatchlings, we'll be sharing the journey through our Turtle Tracks updates.

Which beach will record our first nesting activity?

We can't wait to find out!

💚 Our beaches. Our turtles. Our community.
