Research, Technology and Outcomes 

As the weather changes and the numbers of turtles alter annually it is vitally important to broaden the scope of the research being undertaken and in 2024 we purchased dataloggers to identify the sand temperatures close to the egg depth in the sand .

The results were very interesting with only  a couple of degree variation in the temperature and we had not done any research prior to installing them so we have this year established industry research benchmarks for the methods the dataloggers will be used.

The loggers last season showed interesting variations in the sand temperature when the cyclone passed by the coast and there was a clear drop in the sand temperature, we are looking forward to the results this season with a couple of minor changes to the methods of use and sligly different parameters
